How to Use Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer
Never Use a Microwave for Heating Bottles
Back when I gave birth to my first child, I did a lot of research on safe hazarding your house, putting the nursery together, lining up a babysitter and a backup babysitter, but I never checked on bottle warming.
Honestly, I did not think there was a problem with using the microwave to heat up a bottle. My friends would heat up their bottles in the microwave, my mom did it for us as babies, and you can even see people using microwaves for bottle warming in movies.
Using a microwave for warming up a bottle is dangerous. The plastic can leak contaminants into the milk that you want to give to your child.
The microwave also changes the food by reducing the B12 vitamin, decreasing the flavonoids (which are vital for your baby), and reduces the antibodies and digestion enzymes in your breast milk.
You want to give your little one the best you can, and if you give them breast milk, you certainly don’t want the microwave to change or alter it in any way. That is where the Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer changes everything about bottle warming.
When you use Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer, you know that you will be giving your baby the best. This bottle warmer is on some of the best baby bottle reviews, and it comes highly recommended!
Before We Start
Before we use Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer, we will need to gather a few items. There is nothing new that you will need to buy. This tutorial is all things you should have if you are going to learn how to use tommee tippee bottle warmer.
Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer
Of course, you will need your own Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer for this, so make sure you have yours ready! There are different types of bottle warmers by this brand. You can choose a simple model, or a more complex model to set your preferences and temperatures.
To use Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer in the simple model is easier than the modern ones with knobs or dials to select temperatures. You will need to experiment with the type of bottle warmer you want and like for this tutorial.
Any milk is fine to use in the bottle warmer. You can use Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer for any milk you want. I use to warm up breast milk for my baby, and now I warm up whole milk, soy milk, and I even warm up almond milk.
All the milk turn out fine. The milk is not affected in any way other than being warm. My kids love it, and I like the idea of having them drink various types of milk to try new things. This situation is a win-win for me (and most parents)!
The great thing when you use Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer is that you can use any bottle you want in the warmer. You can use small bottles, big bottles, thin or thicker ones; it does not matter.
My kids breastfed, so I always tend to get the best bottles for breastfed babies because I want them to adapt to using a bottle more naturally.
If your child breastfed, is already using bottles, or likes their milk warmed then this is for you. You can always warm milk in a bottle and then transfer it to your preferred cup for you or your child.
Yeah, even adults like warm milk, especially warm milk that is safely heated.
Warming Things Up
Here we are! We are finally to the point I teach you to use tommee tippee bottle warmer! Are you as excited as I am? You should be! Let’s get started!
Step 1: Get the Milk Ready
You need your milk of choice for this. I love using different types of milk to encourage my kids to taste and try new flavors and foods. I have a fridge that is full of milk; it is a bit ridiculous.
If you want to make a formula, then mix it up and get it ready to be warm! Just take your milk out of the fridge, prepare your formula, maybe you want to heat cereal this way (that is fine, too).
Go ahead and take out whatever you want to use.
Step 2: Prepare the Bottle
You will need to put your milk (or whatever you chose) in a bottle. Any bottle works fine when you use Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer.
Pour your milk into the bottle and twist on the nipple. Place the bottle into the bottle warming hole.
Step 3: Start the Warming Process
If you are using the simple model, just put your bottle into the bottle warming hole, and it will begin to warm the bottle.
This works by the weight of the bottle triggering the system that something is weighing down the triggers. The bottle starts to warm.
Remove the bottle after 3-5 minutes to test it before use to make sure the liquid is warm enough. If not, replace the bottle and repeat.
If you are using the advanced system, place the bottle in the bottle warming hole. Depending on how hot you want your baby’s milk, set the timer for one to three minutes. When the timer sounds, check the bottle against your skin. If you want it warmer, place the bottle back into the bottle warmer and repeat.
Step 4: Finishing
Once you think the milk is ready, test the liquid on the backside of your forearm. This skin is sensitive and will let you know if the temperature is too hot. My husband would hold the bottle up and squirt some milk out into his mouth to try it (some parents do this)!
Step 5: Serving It Up
When it is ready, you can put the Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer away. Make sure the bottle and nipple are secure, and the nipple is not clogged.
If you are serving up cereal or baby food, put that into the serving dish to feed it to your baby. If you made yourself (or a family member) some warm milk or juice, pour it into a cup and enjoy!
Delivering the Goods
When you use Tommee Tippee Bottle Warmer, it is nice to know your baby (and maybe your family) are getting the best from their foods. The warmer protects the food from getting contaminants leaked into it or reducing the nutritional value of the food.
It is also nice to not scald the bottle while heating it in a pot over the stovetop. I am guilty of doing this, and it has happened quite a few times. I know I cannot be the only one, either. It can be tricky to get the temperatures correct on the stovetop, keeping the bottle from touching the bottom, and watching your baby.
It is nice to know that the Tommee Tippee company is taking care of my family and me, along with you and yours. It is also an excellent product to heat up cereal and baby food in if your child prefers their food warm to cold or room temperature. Some babies are picky, and that is okay because they are so cute.
Have you ever used a baby bottle warmer? I would love to hear about your experiences with them or without them. What is your preferred method of warming bottles? Now that I use a bottle warmer, I will never go back!
